Multi-Disciplinary Architecture Service

An architect will help you achieve your aspirations and vision, and add value to your project through good design and sound construction management.

Architects provide a service that extends well beyond producing a set of drawings. The architect’s role is to lead the design team and be actively involved in the process of achieving the appropriate quality and commercial viability.

This approach is intrinsic to all our work and is based on a sound understanding of prevailing costs and values and on a desire to maximise quality and value for money within the available budgets.

Unlike many other Architectural Practices, at Burke Rickhards we ensure Director involvement in all projects, from inception through to completion, with a clear and pragmatic approach to brief development through close collaboration with Clients. Directors are supported by suitably qualified and experienced Technical and Support Staff with each team specific to the Client sector that it operates within. When you appoint an RIBA Chartered architect you are employing someone who has undertaken seven years of training – no other building professional is trained in design and construction to such a level of expertise.

Leisure Consultants

Burke Rickhards have vast experience across the sports and leisure sector, which gives us an unrivalled understanding of the operational needs and safety standards that have a direct impact on the design of sports facilities.

Investing significantly in the sports and leisure industry, the practice’s expertise and reputation was given recognition in 1996 when it was one of only a few practices to be appointed as an “Expert Advisor” to the Sports Council Lottery Fund of England.

In more recent years in conjunction with clients – Parkwood Projects, Burke Rickhards has been responsible for delivering several major leisure projects under the P.F.I and P.P.P procurement process.

Major projects have been secured by the practice being directly appointed by local authorities.

In the area of sports and leisure the practice’s reputation goes from strength to strength in delivering attractive, sustainable and value for money projects on time and on budget.

Our continued aim is to set new standards for sport, leisure and swimming pool facilities, also being aware that rising energy costs represent one of the biggest challenges facing the sport and recreation industry.

Interior Design

Burke Rickhards Interior Design Team work alongside the Architects within the practice or independently offering a high quality one stop consultancy service to Clients across many development sectors: leisure, hospitality, residential, commercial, education and offices.

Our wide range of experience and architectural links gives us the knowledge and practical skills to create innovative design solutions for any space, from private homes to large commercial spaces. We can be involved in a project as much or as little as required, from concept visuals and sample boards to a complete detailed design package, working drawings and specification documents.

Our team work hard to understand the exact needs of the Client, establishing a good working relationship and tailoring the brief around a shared vision. We have the expertise and creative vision to realise the potential of a specific site always keeping in budget and working closely with the Client.

Past projects have included private and public leisure facilities, hotels, restaurants, sports centres, health spas, offices spaces, residential developments and private homes.

Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Over recent years, Burke Rickhards has invested heavily in technology and training to ensure we are fully compliant with the requirements of Building Information Modelling (BIM). As a company, the long-term goal is to create better performing buildings from the outset and to keep improving both the quality and efficiency of work during a project.

BIM allows us to effectively create a building prior to its construction with the ability to reduce problems and on-site queries. The clash detection ability within the program allows for easy identification of potential issues. We have seen the benefits of being able to provide the client with accurate early 3D models of buildings, showing anything from massing and location of site through to 3D room layouts and visuals.
